Sabrina fair...

Have you ever seen the movie Sabrina? I LOVE this movie. There's two versions: the 1954 original and the 1995 remake. Though both have their own strengths and weaknesses, I generally prefer watching the remake. If you have not seen it, it must go on your need-to-watch-this list.

I refuse to spoil the movie for you, but here's a little pertinent background: just after the beginning narration, Sabrina climbs a tree, and spies over the fence at the Larrabee party.  It is a magnificent event, and she is enchanted by its romance and magical qualities. (again, you should watch this movie to really understand this post)

Tonight, I had a Sabrina moment. Our house shares a back wall with a lovely outdoor reception center that is very shabby chic and cute. We know whenever there is a reception because we can see the strands of lights beyond the wall and hear the wedding tunes wafting across the yard. (As a side note, I will never understand some of the mind-boggling music selections these couples choose to play at their receptions.)

In order to field a better view of the goings-on tonight, I went outside and scrambled up our tree house. Much like Sabrina, I just sat, listening to the music and watching as the people laughed and danced under the dim twinkling lights and the full moon. I knew no one, nor did I watch anyone in particular, but just appreciated the beauty of such a nice evening. I probably looked much like Sabrina up in her tree, for I certainly felt that same fascination and enchantment.
